I seldom wear makeup during the summer, which is why I did not realize that I had run out of makeup remover wipes until I was about to take my makeup off last night. There have been times I have run out of makeup remover wipes and resorted to using warm water. Needless to say, that did not get the job done well enough. In order to avoid turning to warm water last night, I thought to try extra virgin olive oil. I was apprehensive at first because I have oily skin. I was nervous that putting oil on my skin would cause me to break out. To my surprise, my skin did not react! After later going online I discovered that many people use extra virgin olive oil as their makeup remover. How did I not think of this sooner?
Only a dime-sized amount of extra virgin olive oil is needed to remove both my face and eye makeup. Just a rub of EVOO into the skin, a rinse, and all traces of makeup are gone! After a wash, my skin remains soft and moisturized, without feeling greasy. Extra virgin olive oil is inexpensive and easily accessible since most people already have it lying around in their kitchens. I have also heard it works well as a growth and strengthening treatment for the eyelashes. That shall be my next experiment with this multipurpose oil!
